Set up a Twitter page
Go to https://twitter.com/
Use the email groupname-volunteers@groups.ilovefreegle.org
We use owner emails so the group can be recovered by sending a password reset to the group email.
Create a secure, unguessable password. Twitter may lock accounts if they are hacked and used to distribute spam. As they are unhelpful when it comes to getting them unlocked, it is better to choose a secure password in the first place.
Click Get Started
Full name: add groupname Freegle
Click sign up.
Add a phone number. If you skip this step you may have to go through an automated account recovery procedure.
Userid is groupname-Freegle. You are limited to a few letters so you may need to shorten the group name for instance Stevenage is stev_Freegle. This is going to be the name that people use to send you messages directly, it shows on your page as @groupname-freegle so shortening the group area name for the userid will not mean people can’t find you, they will find you using the name you first added in the full name box. Which is why you use the group name.
Select next, then click ‘Lets go’
