Mentors Team Report 2018 07

Mentors currently have 9 members and 1 Board observer.

The Mentor team are:

Alison, Christian, Cooky, David, Diz, Jacqui and Jo. Sheila Little is the team coordinator Wanda is acting co-coordinator. Andy Ludlow is our Board observer.

Apologies that there was no report for June, Mentors have been flat out doing group moves and so the report got put off because of lack of time. In early June we were given two more groups to add to the caretaker list. Burnley and Pendle group and Hyndburn are both now looking for new owners. We have had no new requests for groups from the caretaker list..

Group moves are moving along quickly now. In the last few months mentors have moved almost 200 groups to native hosting and there are less than 100 to still be moved. Any group that would like mentors to move the group, please mail us at mentors@ilovefreegle.org we can do the whole move, so if you haven’t moved because it is a daunting process, please mail us and we will be happy to help. Group moves take about two weeks from start to finish, and with roughly 8 weeks left before Yahoo is disconnected from Freegle Direct completely, we need to get these last few groups moved.

We have been helping one owner with three groups to recruit. So far with little success.

Mentors are covering a few groups for owners who are unwell or absent for other reasons. If you are going away, why not give Mentors a shout, we will look after your group and you can have a holiday without worrying about Freegle!

Two new groups were started nationally this week after a request from Essex council who have been extremely helpful. Harlow and Braintree. Mentors will care for these groups untilnew owners are found.

There are currently 41   groups listed on the caretaker list needing new owners and 10  that are being cared for temporarily.  These include some groups currently being cared for by non-mentors.

Since the list began, permanent new owners have been found for another 47 groups.

We come again to the list of groups under the care of caretakers. If any mod teams local to any of these groups would like to take any of these groups on as permanent new owners, please contact us.
